Management, Engineering, Load-Out, and Installation of Marine Pipelines for Seawater Intake System Persian Gulf Star Refinery

Delta Offshore Technology played a pivotal role in the successful execution of the P.G. Star Refinery Seawater Intake System, delivering management, engineering, load-out, and installation of large-diameter marine pipelines. Developed for the Persian Gulf Star Oil Company, this high-capacity system supplies 200,000 cubic meters of seawater per day for cooling operations at the 360,000 BPSD condensate refinery in Bandar Abbas.

By integrating precision engineering, innovative installation techniques, and stringent safety measures, Delta Offshore Technology successfully delivered this critical infrastructure. Recognized for its technical excellence, this project was featured at the 24th International Offshore (Ocean) and Polar Engineering Conference (ISOPE) in 2014.

Project Overview

Project Overview

A 360,000 BPSD condensate refinery in Bandar Abbas has been carried out by Persian Gulf Star Oil Company, where a seawater intake system was designed to supply 200,000 cubic meters clean water from 1500m offshore by 4 x 2.7m diameter steel marine pipelines for cooling purposes.

The length of the pipeline route is approximately 1.4 km, including two strings of 600 meters and shore approach line of 130 m. Read more . . . Although, this was a huge and a high-risk project due to the pipeline’s material and its ultra-large dimensions, it was carried out with the most safety and reliability. All activities related to floating and flooding (subsea installation), including offshore tie-ins between two individual strings has successfully completed by Delta offshore Technology in just a few hours that was much less than as the client expected
